As I turned 33, I took a hard look at my workout routine and knew it was time to shake things up. By streamlining my routine, I’ve been able to find a balance that fits with my busy life and still helps me meet my fitness goals. It’s all about quality over quantity, and it’s been a game-changer for me.
My workout routine is simple: I do two strength training sessions per week, and each one takes about 45 minutes. In these sessions, I work out all the main muscle groups in my body using exercises that target everything at once. I do two sets for each group, which helps me build muscle and get stronger. To really see results, I know I need to lift heavier weights over time. So, I make sure to gradually increase the weight or resistance I’m using, which keeps my muscles challenged and helps me build strength quickly. This way, I can get a good workout without spending all day at the gym. I can focus on my goals and get the results I want without wasting time.I like to mix things up with my workouts, so on top of lifting weights, I also do some cardio to keep my fitness routine interesting.
I set aside two days a week to do Zone 2 cardio, which is basically just keeping a steady pace for about 30 minutes. This kind of moderate-intensity workout is really good for improving my endurance and getting my heart rate up. And then, to really push myself, I do one high-intensity session of sprinting for 15 minutes, which helps me boost my overall fitness level. By combining strength training with cardio, I’m not only getting better at sports and stuff, but I’m also taking care of my health in the long run, which is pretty cool. Plus, it’s a simple and straightforward way to stay in shape, which is what I’m all about.
